Read the New Study A Pan-Canadian Perspective on the Professional Knowledge Base of Learning Disabilities by Dr. David F. Philpott & Dr. Mildred Cahill released December 8, 2008. The new applied research study took 2 years to develop. The study surveyed Ministries of Education across the country to identify requirements for teachers and psychologists working with students who have learning disabilities, and the existence of policies to guide their work. The study concludes that Canada 's Ministries of Education have no specific guidelines for teachers or psychologists to address the needs of students with learning disabilities.
